Lila Sackett Lila Sackett, 86, of the Fairchild Senior Living Apartments, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Lila Lydia, daughter of Charles and Florence (Gerhardt) Asplin, was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Neillsville. Growing up in the Neillsville area she attended Tioga Country School.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd Orville Sackett on July 22, 1940, in Neillsville. The couple made their home in Fairchild, Neillsville and Alma Center, before moving to Black River Falls. After her husband passed away in January 1984, she continued to live in Black River Falls until moving to Eau Claire in the mid-1990s.
While in Eau Claire, she volunteered with the Eau Claire County Senior Program, serving meals at the Eau Claire Senior Center. For the past 5 years she made her home in Fairchild. Lila loved her roll (sic) as homemaker.
She enjoyed cooking for her large family and tending to her many gardens. While living in Black River Falls, she had been employed at the Jackson County Court House.
Lila is survived by 10 children, six sons, Lewis (Patricia) Sackett of Eau Claire, James (Jodi) Sackett and Vernon (Ann) Sackett all of Greenville, S.C., Jesse (Pat) Sackett of Rockland, Bruce (Lori) Sackett of Globe, Ariz., Mark Sackett of Mesa, Ariz.; four daughters, Lila (Charles) Jones of Queen Creek, Ariz., Susan (Dave) Scholze of Humbird, Donna Sackett of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Laurel (Wade) Meek of Black River Falls; two brothers, Hubert Asplin of Dilworth, Minn., Donald Asplin of Madison; three sisters, Velda Walker of Osseo, Jean (Wendell) Suckow of Marquette, Mich., Betty Asplin of Corpus Cristi, Texas; 37 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Harold Sackett; grandsons, Eric and Mac Sackett; and siblings, Florence Beyer, William Asplin, Lois Wendt and Lorraine Newlieb.
Private funeral services will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls. A visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.

Funeral services will be he1d Saturday at 1 p. m. from Lenmark and Sons, Clarence Arquette and George Watters officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
Eric is survived by his parents, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Peterson of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs, Lloyd Sackett of Alma Center. Friends may call this evening at the funeral home.

Mac D. Sackett
Mac D. Sackett, three-year-old son of Harold (Sonny) and Meg Sackett, 1701 Roosevelt St., Wausau, died Saturday at University Hospitals, Madison, of complications from cystic fibrosis.
Survivors include his parents, two brothers, Lex Hardin and Jim Brionne Sackett; and a sister, Margaret Helen Sackett, all at home.
There will be no services. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery here, with the Smith Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.

Lloyd O. Sackett
BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. -- Lloyd Orville Sackett, 67, of Rt. 4, Black River Falls, died Saturday, Jan. 14, at his home.
He was born Nov. 26, 1916, in Neillsville to Mr. and Mrs. George Sackett.
He married Lila Asplin in Neillsville on July 22, 1940.
Sackett had been custodian at the Jackson County Courthouse for the past several years.
Survivors are his wife; eight sons, Harold of Eau Claire, Lewis of Fall Creek, Jesse of Merrillan, Bruce of Ridgeland and Vernon, Mark, Laurel and Jim, all of Black River Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Lila Schellin of Elk Mound, Mrs. Susan Scholze of Humbird and Donna Sackett of Eau Claire; 26 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Nora Spencer of Minneapolis, Mrs. Ethel Pelzak and Mrs. Eva Kreger, both of Fairchild, and Mrs. Ruth Ida of Whitehall; and two brothers, Charles and Frank, both of Fairchild.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Jensen Funeral Home, Hixton.
