Notes:
The now defunct cemetery is located on the west side of Vernon Boulevard between 36th Avenue and 37th Avenue. There were known burials between 1780 and 1857. The remains were removed to Saint George’s Churchyard, Astoria, in October of 1900. A bottle factory was eventually constructed on the site. The map location is approximate.
The cemetery is identified as the Blackwell Family Burial Ground on pages 21-22 of The Graveyard Shift: A Family Historian’s Guide to New York City Cemeteries, Carolee Inskeep, Ancestry Publishing (Orem, Utah) © 2000.
