SAMUEL SHARPLESS, son of George and Anne (Sackette) Sharpless, was born near Brigdport, Belmont Co., O. on 11 mo. 1, 1822 and died in Iowa on 6 mo. 5, 1901. In 1857 he married Priscilla F. (Crain) Smith, daughter of Andrew and Sarah (Gaddis) Crain and widow of the Rev. Mr. Smith. Samuel Sharpless was a prominent banker of Iowa City, Ia. There was no issue of this marriage.
