Evelyn Mae Hoblit, Daughter of Clarence and Nellie (Teghtmeyer) Miller was born April 16, 1921 in Steven County, Kansas and departed this life on December 5th, 2009 at the age of 88 years, 7 months, and 19 days.
In August, 1936 she and her sister accepted Christ as their savior and were baptized, joining the fellowship of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church. April 18, 1959 she and Irvin Hoblit were united in marriage. They were blessed with a family of six children, four by her husband's previous marriage and two by their union.
Besides her beloved companion, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and son-in-law Carol and Joe Popejoy, a son Marvin and a granddaughter Gwendelynne Hoblit, A dear sister Doris Miller and a brother Melvin.
Survivors include their children and companions, Norman and Diane Hoblit, Bonita Hoblit, Rita Sharp, Steve and Kelli Hoblit, Arlene and Tim Binkley, 13 grandchildren Nathan Hoblit, Aaron and Renita Hoblit, Marla and Roland Brubaker, Aleta and Anthony Montgomery, Twila and Nick Herrmann, Ashley and Alison Sharp, Leah & Seth Hoblit, Elizabeth, Scott, Rachael and Andrew Binkley and 14 great grandchildren, Bronwyn, Corbin, Charisse, Dietrich, Jace and Ridge Hoblit, Lynelle, Lauren & Layna Brubaker, Clem and Christin Montgomery and Levi, Malerie and Dillon Herrman, a sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Alvin Smith, a sister-in-law Fern Miller, many nieces and nephews and a few very special friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday December 9, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Oak Grove Old German Baptist Brethren Church on Martin Road, Gettysburg, Ohio, with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery, Gettysburg, Ohio.
