Nina Forgo was born to Tora and Eric Forgo in Toronto, Canada on February 27, 1954. The Forgos moved to the United States within her first year. She was the older sister to Eric and Tove.
Growing up Nina and her family loved skiing and often traveled to a family home in Vermont.
Nina loved travel. Growing up she visited family in Norway and studied in Mexico. Later she returned to Norway, lived in Sweden and explored Europe and Australia. She spent time in Toronto with her Aunt Liv.
Nina came to Colorado for undergraduate school. She graduated in three years. At school she made lifelong friends, including her first husband, Paul Moore.
Nina and Paul lived in upstate New York in the early 1980s. Paul was a pilot and they owned an airplane which crashed. Nina was hospitalized for almost a year enduring severe burns, skin grafts, and multiple surgeries. Her recovery shaped Nina's personality and her love of life. Nina returned to Colorado and to school, earning her MBA.
Nina met her second husband, Eric Small, during this time. They had two children, Annika and Sonja. Her girls were Nina's life. She loved them both so much. During these years Nina showed her love of adventure, driving Formula Ford race cars, flying gliders, and skiing.
On September 26, 2009 Nina married her current husband Mark. Theirs was a love that built over the years, ending too soon.
