William Alan Diehl was the third of three children (and only son) born to William E and Kay S Diehl at St. Lukes Hospital in Fountain Hill (now a borough of Bethlehem. PA). He graduated from Liberty High School and worked for many years as a dispatcher at AAA, where he was well loved by his coworkers. He resided with his mother in Bethlehem prior to her passing. He is survived by daughter Lisa Rowe of Allentown, PA ("the best thing that ever happened to me"), grandson, Aiden Peters and grandaughter Bailey Peters. He is also survived by sister Corliss "Bunny" (Diehl) Shalbert (Michael) of North Carolina, six nieces and nephews; and Howell cousins Gail, Ralph (Chip), and Janice.
William Diehl died suddenly at his home in Allentown, while relaxing in his living room recliner. He was cremated at Nicos Elias Funeral Home in Allentown, PA. The ashes were received by his daughter.

Kay S. Diehl, 69, of 1222 W. Rosemont Drive, Bethlehem, died Friday in Muhlenberg Hospital Center. She was the wife of the late William E. Diehl.
She was a sales clerk for the former Alice Kay clothing store, Bethlehem, for 12 years, retiring in 1979.
Born in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Corwin and Hope (Sacket) Shafer.
Survivors: Son, William A., with whom she resided; daughters, Marcia, wife of Patrick Tocci of Palmerton, and Corliss, wife of Michael Schalbert of Allentown; sister, Shirley Stevens of West Chester, Chester County, and seven grandchildren.
Services: Private. No calling hours. Arrangements, Downing Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
