Harriet Lois Tlougan
May 14, 1922 -- Oct. 8, 2001
ROCHESTER, Minn. -- Harriet Lois Tlougan, 79, of Rochester, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, of complications associated with diabetes.
The daughter of Leslie C. and Elvira (Kinkaid) Sackeft, she was born May 14, 1922, in Stewartville, Minn. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1940 and attended Rochester Junior College and Kahler Methodist School of Nursing. Harriet married Bernard R. Tlougan Sept. 20, 1942, in Rochester where the couple made their home.
Participating in St. Theresa's Rosary Group, Mrs. Tlougan was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church since 1946. Actively involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America, Mrs. Tlougan's contributions were recognized with the Scouter of the Year Award and the District Award of Merit. She was a member of the Rochester Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.
Harriet Tlougan is survived by her husband, Bernie; a daughter, Cecilia (Ed) Gaul of Faribault, Minn.; and six sons, James (Jane) of Rochester, Leslie (Karen) of Waseca, Minn., Allan (Mar'cia) of Prior Lake, Minn., and Brian (Peg), Roger (Diane), Andrew (Debbie), all of Rochester; 11 granddaughters, six grandsons, and one great-grandson; two sisters, Jean Senrick of Rochester, and Leila Britton of Marian Del Rey, Calif.;
Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, James Sackett.
Friends and family may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001 , at the Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of 1 0:30 a.m. services Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church, Rochester, with the Rev. Timothy T. Reker and the Rev. Gerald A. Mahon officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Rochester.
