      G. H. Pioneer Bell Worker, Dies

      Services for George H. Hepner, 91, who died Saturday at Ruth's Convalescent Home, will be held Tuesday at the Petersen Funeral Home in at 2 p. m. Rev. Ray Cunningham of the First Baptist church will be in charge and burial will follow in Maple Hill cemetery there.

      He was born in Conidin, Aug. 5, 1867. He was married to Alta Eva Brown Dec. 27, 1893 in Cadillac and he started in the telephone business in Muskegon that year. He had 40 years with the telephone company and he lived in Cadillac for 56 years and in Petoskey the last four.

      He was a member of Memorial Baptist church here; Masonic Lodge No. 331 in Cadillac; Wolverine Chapter 10, Pioneers of America of the Bell Telephone Co.

      Surviving are two sons, Clare of Petoskey and Karl of Reed City; three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Keiser of Fremont, Mrs. Frank (Crystal) Minzey of Mc-Bain and Mrs. Leon (Marie) Mc-Fall of Cadillac; 12 grandchildren.

      The body is being taken to Cadillac today by the Stone Funeral Home.
