Merrill Clevenger, 72
Merrill Clevenger, 72, 1709 E. 25th died Monday in his home after an extended illness.
He was born in Farmland, attended Farmland and Winchester schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in Randolph County.
Mr. Clevenger worked for 30 years at Warner Gear (now Borg-Warner Automotive, Transmission Systems), retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Warner Gear Sympathy Club and United Auto Workers Local 287. He was a member of the East 16th Street Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ann; a son, Wayne Fannin of Moberly, three daughters, Ruth Richmond of Muncie, Dorothy Hart of Dayton, Ohio, and Marjorie Snyder of Port Charlotte, five brothers, Paul, Fort Myers, Joseph, Parker City, Ralph, Muncie, Robert, Ridgeville, and James, Farmland; seven sisters, Juanita Jones, Speedway, Mary Alice Bea, Carmel, Annabelle Estes, Yorktown, Naomi Brown, Muncie, Maxine Wilson, Greensburg, and Sarah Kay Wick and Ruth Miller, both of Richmond; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m Wednesday in Parson Mortuary-Wheeling Chapel, with Herb Miller officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory.
Calling hours at the mortuary are 2-7 p.m. today.
