      SACKETT RITES HERE ON SUNDAY

      Funeral Services Will Be Held For Carbon Firm Superintendent

      Funeral services for Vick F. Sackett, 45, of 501 Glenmar avenue, who died early Thursday following a heart attack at his home, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Davis-Lawhead chapel, with Rev. A. M. Freeman, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery.

      Mr. Sackett had suffered several attacks during the past few days and succumbed before the family physician was able to reach his bedside Thursday morning, relatives said.

      As field superintendent for the Southern Carbon Company, Mr. Sack­ett was in charge of a11 the company gas wells and their production, officials stated. He was widely known.

      Mr. Sackett came to Monroe some 20 years ago from the office of the Southern Carbon Company at Charleston, W. Va.

      He is survived by his widow; one daughter, Barbara, a student at Sullens College, Virginia; two sons, Richard Sackett, a student at Louisiana Tech, and Raymond Sackett; his mother, Mrs. Frances Sackett, Traderse (sic) City, Mich,; two brothers, Clarence Sackett, Denver, Colo., and Edward Sackett, Charleston, W. Va.; two sisters, Miss Baird Sackett, Evanston, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Paston, Michigan City, Ind., and a nephew, Edward Sackett, Jr., assistant field superintendent for the carbon company at Fairbanks.

      Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Davis-Lawhead Funeral Home.
