WINCHESTER - Edith M. Whitehead, 86, of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Randolph Nursing Home in Winchester.
She was born on October 30, 1926 in Winchester to Veryl G. and Martha (Smith) Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of Union St. Wesleyan Church and the Home Ec. Club.
Survivors include a son, Mike (wife Rosie) Whitehead of Winchester; one daughter, Kathy Tribble of Jeffersonville, OH; one sister, Rosemary Sharp of Clinton, TN; six grandchildren, Michael (Jennie) Whitehead Jr., Shawnna Kellerman, Brady Whitehead, Samuel Tribble Jr and Debra and Dianna Tribble; seven great-grandchildren, Zoe Whitehead, Dravin Whitehead, Lauren Whitehead, Dylan Whitehead, Justin Whitehead, Jazzelle Tribble and Samuel Tribble III.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Marvin E. Whitehead who died in 1995.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Rev. Randy Yaryan officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
Friends and family may call from 12-2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

MARTHA SMITH JONES
Mrs. Martha Smith Jones, 68, 521 N. Oak St., Winchester, died Tuesday morning.
A native of Elwood, she was born Dec. 7, 1909, to Ira and Mary Smith. She was a member of the White River Friends Church.
Among the survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Edith) Whitehead and Mrs. Rosemary Martin, both of Winchester; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Sylvia Goens and Delcia Wardwell both of Elwood and a brother of Elwood, Wayne Smith.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the White River Friends Church in Winchester.
Friends will be received at her home after noon on Thursday.
