James E. Clendenin, 58
PINSON, AL - James E. Clendenin, 58, died at his residence in Pinson, AL after a brief illness, Sunday, April 24, 2005. He was born in Anderson, IN on July 18, 1946, a son of Harry O. and Pansy E. (Mason) Clendenin.
He has resided in Pinson since 2004, moving there from Oregon after having left Indiana in 1992. Jim served with the United States Navy from 1963 to 1967. He retired in 1990 from the Union City, Indiana Police Department after 10 years of employment. After his retirement he was a security officer and owned and operated a cleaning service. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Cross in Pinson.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra J. (Hughins) Clende-nin-Pinson, AL; 3 daughters, Teresa Ann Hodges-Lynn, IN, Donna Jean Clendenin, Union City, IN; and Laura Rene Clendenin-Roseburg, OR; his mother, Pansy E. Clendenin-Mesa, AZ; brother, Ralph E. Clendenin-Mesa, AZ; 3 granddaughters, Joanna Hodges, Kayla Himes and Brenda Himes; numerous other family members and friends.
Preceded in death by his father, Harry O. Clendenin in 1973; a brother, Bud Clendenin in 1988.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2005 in the Owens Funeral Home, 412 N. Harrison St., Alexandria. Jim's family members will share in celebrating his life. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery, Yorktown, IN.
In honor of Jim's Scottish heritage, a bagpiper from the Highland High School Band Department will play at the graveside.
Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria from 12:00 Noon until the hour of services on Saturday.
