SIOUX FALLS
Dale Pipe
SIOUX FALLS -- Dale H. Pipe, 83, of 1806 S. Walts Ave., died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Sioux Valley Hospital.
He was born Aug. 9, 1917, in Sioux Falls to Warren and Marie (Harding) Pipe. He graduated from Washington High School and worked with his father in a Dale Pipe boiler business after high school.
He married Lillian Huxtable on Feb. 9, 1941, in Sioux Falls. He began work with the Sioux Falls Wastewater Treatment Plant in 1945 and retired as superintendent in 1982. He served as a volunteer at McKennan Hospital for 10 years after retiring.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian; two sons: Richard of Brunswick, Ga., and Robert of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Donna Steele of Brookings; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Leola Salisbury of Omaha and Doris Peterson of Yankton.
Services begin at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Sioux Falls with burial in Hills of Rest Memorial Park.
Visitation begins at 7 p.m. today at George Boom Funeral Home with the family present 7 to 8.

Marie Harding was born May 6, 1894, in Sioux Falls.
She married Warren W. Pipe in Sioux Falls.
Her husband died in 1967.
Survivors include a son. Dale, Sioux Falls; two daughters: Mrs. Ralph (Leola) Salisbury, Omaha; and Mrs. Gilbert (Doris) Peterson, Meckling; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Hills of Rest Memorial Park.
