      MONROE.

      Death of Duane L. Guernsey, Prominent Citizen of Pittsburg, From Heart Disease.

      Duane L. Guernsey, a widely known and wealthy resident of Pittsford for thirty years, died on Saturday morning of heart trouble. The deceased had been in failing health for some time past. He was born in Duchess county, the son of Ezekiel B. and Tamma Sackett Guernsey, who were prominent residents of Chautauqua county for many years.

      Duane L. Guernsey located at Pittsford in the spring of 1872, when he purchased a large tract of real estate adjoining Pittsford village, on which hi late residence is located and which has been occupied by the family ever since. Mr. Guernsey was married twice, his first wife being Abbie Wilmarth, a daughter of Orrin Wilmarth, who was widely known among the pioneers of Monroe county. She died in 1884, leaving two sons, Fred W. Guernsey, of Pittsford, and Everttt B., of Rochester. A few years Liter be was united in marriage with Mrs. Helen Person, of Alabama, who survives, as does also his sons and a grandchild, daughter of Everett B. Guernsey.
