Dr. Horace P. Porter is a graduate of the Medical Department of Yale University, Class of 1861. Assistant Surgeon of 7th and Surgeon of 10th Regiment of Conn. Volunteer Infantry. Acting Assistant Surgeon U. S. A. War of 1861-5. Has filled the offices of Post Commander, Post Surgeon, Medical Director and Surgeon General, G. A. R. He is now a resident of the city and president of the Chamber of Commerce, of Port Arthur, Texas, and is an ex-president of the Port Arthur Science Association.
