SERVICES THURSDAY FOR CHARLES SPENCER
Funeral services for Charles Henry Spencer, 86, 34 Falkhill avenue, who was a retired mason and who worked as a mason on the first building erected as Vassar hospital, will be conducted from 20 Smith street at2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon . . . . Burial will be in Poghkeepsie Rural cemetery . . . .
Mr. Spencer died at 8:30 o'clock Sunday night in Vassar hospital. He had been a patient a little more than a week with a heart ailment.
Born in Dover Plains, Nov. 28, 1854, Mr. Spencer was the son of Charles Henry and Delia Ann Wallen Spencer. He attended schools in Dover Plains and this city, coming her to reside 70 years ago. He had been retired 16 years.
Mr. Spencer is survived by his wife, Mrs. Almira Mackey Spencer; a son, Charles Henry Spencer Jr., this city; seven daughters, Mrs. Joseph Frazier, this city; Mrs. James Ciancanelli, Beacon, Mrs. Katherine Anspach, Red Hook, Mrs. Raymond Beneway, this city, Mrs. William Schaffer, Sr., this city, Mrs. Fran Amato, Washington Hollow, and Mrs. Benjamin Sackett, this city; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
