In June of 1928 Mr. Harris joined Mutual of Omaha, in Omaha where he worked until 1931 specializing in life and health insurance. In October of 1932 he became a general agent in Springfield, IL. In February of 1947 he married Vera Jean Grider and in December their daughter Alliann was born. By 1950 Al was appointed President of Mutual of Omaha's Midwest Managers Association and in 1959 he was appointed president of the National General Agents Association. From 1961 to 1986 his agency qualified for the Presidents Circle 26 consecutive years. In January of 1990 he retired from Mutual Of Omaha after 62 years of service. Mr. Harris was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Lodge and Pine Tree Golf Club. He is survived by his daughter, Alliann Hoover of Delray Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Clinton Wilcke, Tieal Wilcke and Tyler Hoover; and three nieces and nephews. Predeceased by wife, Vera Jean on September 10, 1990. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 12, 1993 at 2:00 p.m. at LORNE AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 745 North Federal Hwy, Delray Beach with Dr. Theodore A. Bush officiating.
