Andrew Jackson King, born 1841, Ky, had moved to Sevier County Arkansas, 1910. His son, V. Edmond King, born 1892, Ky, was an 18 year old boy at the time they moved here. Edmond's sister Grace, just older than he, came with them. Grace married John Ward in 1913. They lived in Winthrop, Arkansas. Edmond King married Gertrude Hedges December 25,1917. They lived in the Fairview community in 1918, on the old H.H. Kitchens place, on the old Ft. Towson Road. (This was the old Military Road over wich the Indians were moved from Arkansas to Indian Territory) Later that year Edmond and Gurtie ) as he was affectionately called) moved to the Hedges's home place in Cross Trails. Mr. and Mrs. Hedges had moved to the Grubb place following Mrs. Grubb's death in 1918. The Kings lived there many years, their 9 children were born there, but not all in the same house. Andrew J. King got married again in July , 1918 and they moved to Houston , Texas, in 1922. He died December 5,1922, at age 81 and is buried in Holly Grove Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
