CASSOPOLIS - Margaret A. Gleason, 82, of Cassopolis, MI, died Friday, January 22, 2010 in the Cass County Medical Care Facility, Cassopolis, after an extended illness. She was born February 21, 1927, in Elkhart, IN, the daughter of the late Ralph and Ellen (Niver) Keely and was a lifetime area resident. She married Robert C. Gleason on January 1, 1946, in Cassopolis and he preceded her in death on August 19, 2009. Margaret is survived by a daughter, Cheryl "Cheri" Collins of Cassopolis; a son, Dennis (Julie) Gleason of Dowagiac; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Tiffany) Gleason of Las Vegas, NV, Shawna (Eric) West of Schoolcraft, MI, and Todd (Claire) Collins of Cassopolis; and five great-grandchildren, Ryan Gleason, Nicholas Gleason, Alexandra West, Megan West and Gage Collins. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Holen and brother, George Keely. Margaret was a homemaker and also had worked as an accountant with Fruit Belt Electric in Cassopolis, and with the Lewis Cass ISD in Cassopolis. She was a member of the Pleasant View Church of Christ, Cassopolis, a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge, and was a member of the Cass County Campers. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant View Church of Christ, Cassopolis. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Settle, retired Pastor of the church. Interment will be in Reames & Norton Cemetery, Cassopolis. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Connelly Funeral Home, Cassopolis. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Pleasant View Church of Christ. Online condolences can be left at connellyfuneralhome@verizon.net.
