      Beverly F.Condit

      BUFFALO -- An informal memorial service for family and friends of Beverly F. Con-dit, 80, will be held held today, Feb. 23, 2007, from 1 to 5 p.m., at her home, 696 N. Burritt in Buffalo.

      She died Feb. 19, 2007, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.

      She was born May 12, 1926, in Buffalo.

      She attended business college in Denver after graduating from Buffalo High School in 1943.

      She married Richard H. Condit on June 6, 1948, in Buffalo and they divorced in 1975.

      She enjoyed reading, bird-watching, cats, supporting her grandchildren and children in their sports and music activities.

      Before her retirement, she was active in the Buffalo Music Study Club and played bridge.

      Sruvivors (sic) include her children, Stephen H. Condit of Shoreline, Wash., Teresa Brooks of Buffalo, Amanda Stinson of Powell, Brett H. Condit of Camano Island, Wash., and Wendy Esponda of Buffalo.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine Mikesell and Farrend Mikesell.

      Memorials to the Johnson County Library or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated by the family.

      Dick Condit

      BUFFALO -- Private family interment for Dick Condit, 83, will be held by his family. They are honoring his request tor no services.

      He died peacefully September 8, 2008, at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo.

      He was born in Buffalo on Jan. 29, 1925, to Clark Huntley and Thelma "Gatchell" Condit and grew up in Dubois and Kaycee. He enjoyed visiting his grandfather's ranch in Mayoworth, where he also worked. In his youth, the family moved to Buffalo and he graduated from Johnson County High School in 1942.

      In 1943, he joined the U.S. Navy and served as sonarman on the USS Wallace L. Lind. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and awarded the WWII Victory Medal, American Area, Asiatic-Pacific Area (3 stars), and Philippine Liberation (2 stars).

      He married Beverly Mikesell in 1948 and attended the University of Wyoming, graduating in the first pharmaceutical class of 1950. They made their home in Buffalo where he co-owned and operated Gatchell's Drug Store until 1991. They had five children.

      They were divorced in 1975 and in 1977 he married Betty Sell. They moved to Gillette in 1991, where he was a pharmacist at Smith's. Later, they moved to Casper, where he was employed at Safeway as a pharmacist until he retired.

      He continued living in Casper until his wife's death in February of 2008 and moved to Buffalo in March.

      He was a Mason, member of Kiwanis and the American Legion. He served on the city council and the Johnson County School Board. He was instrumental in starting the Jim Gatchell Museum. He participated in the Buffalo Melodramas, played the bugle in the Drum and Bugle Corps, played the banjo, bass, fiddle and was a member of several local bands. He will be remembered for his musicianship, storytelling, love of jokes and riddles and his sense of humor.

      He is survived by two sons, Stephen H. Condit of Shoreline, Wash., and Brett Andrew Condit of Camano Island, Wash.; three daughters, Teresa Jo Brooks of Buffalo, Amanda Kay Stinson of Powell and Wendy Anne Esponda of Buffalo; two stepchildren, Jenean Patrick of Alaska and Don Sell of Colorado; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one sister and one brother.

      Memorials may be made to the Jim Gatchell Museum in care of the Adams Funeral Home, which is in charge of all arrangements.
