Foote Family : Comprising the Genealogy and History of Nathaniel Foote of Wethersfield, Connecticut indicates that Ora's mother was Frances Emily Foote. However, that source indicates that Frances' first husband, Norman Durham, died in 1852, then lists her as marrying Dr. Darman Cowles in 1876. However, Ora and his sister, Frances Emily Cowles both were born 1855-1858.
Ora's second wife was Mary Ellen Scott Parmenter, who had been abandoned by her husband, Sumner. Ora and Mary wed 4 Apr 1908 in Liberal, Barton County, Missouri. Following Ora's death, Mary wed Charles Priest.
