Mrs. James Shannon
BATH, Nov. 21.-- Mrs. James Shannon, who has been in feeble health for the past two months, died at noon yesterday. Mrs. Shannon's maiden name was Hattie, a daughter of Thomas Adams and Margaret Montgomery. She was born in 1856 in the neighboring town of Prattsburg (sic), where she attended Franklin Academy and was married to James Shannon in 1885. Mrs. Shannon lived after her marriage in Bath and vicinity, and survived the death of her husband 24 years. She leaves three sons, Herbert <. Shannon of Bath, Harry T. of Hawthorne, N. J.; James A., in Philadelphia, and a daughter, Mrs. Edwin R. Sutton of this village. She also leaves one brother, Charles M. Adams in Bellingham, Wash.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the family home in Elm street. Burial will be in Grove cemetery.

Herbert Shannon, Deputy County Clerk, Is Dead
BATH --Herbert Shannon of Washington Boulevard, Bath, died at his home at 11 a. m. today, after an illness of about two months.
Deputy County Clerk since July, 1947, when he succeeded Edgar Sanford, retired, he becomes the third deputy or former deputy clerk to die in the
past year and a. half. Mr. Sanford died last Fall and H. Ward Timmerman, who preceded Mr. Sanford, passed away in October, 1946.
Mr. Shannon had been an employe of the Steuben County Clerk's office for the past 20 years, during which he had come to be regarded as one of
the best men in his line in the office. His promotion was deserved.
This afternoon, County Clerk Reuben Oldfield announced that he has appointed another veteran
employe of the department, Harold McGuire of Bath, as deputy clerk.
The deceased was. born in Bath, the son of James and Harriet Adams Shannon and had spent his entire life in the village. He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Hallett; a sister, Mrs. Edwin Sutton, both of Bath, and a brother, James of Long Island.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

MRS. FLORENCE S. SUTTON
Bath--Mrs. Florence Shannon Sutton, 66, of 8 Roble St., Bath, died yesterday (July 9, 1953) in Bath Memorial Hospital.
A native of Bath, she was the widow of Edwin R. Sutton. She was graduated from Haverling High School, Bath, and was an employe of the Empire Abstract Company. She was an active member of the Rural Idealist and the Kings Daughters here.
She leaves a brother, James A. Shannon of Philadelphia, Pa.; two step-sons, Wilson Sutton pf Hiskville and Lawrence Sutton of Radford, Va. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p. m. at the Bond Funeral Home, the Rev. Reginald C. Groff, rector of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.
