Nellie L. Lewis.
Mrs. Nellie L. Lewis, aged 55 years, died Friday evening at 9:10 o'clock at her home in Corning. She was born in Lawrenceville, Pa., August 9, 1877, daughter of Warren and Minnie Riffle Beeman. She was married in Addison, April 13, 1897 to Grant A. Lewis, who survives.
For the past 33 years, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis have lived in Corning, where Mr. Lewis is yardmaster the New York Central Railroad. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Crystal City Chapter o. 351 Order of Eastern Star. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harry Nares, of Marion Indiana; three sons, Earl, Leland and Grant, Jr., all at home, three grandchildren, Harold Nar- (sic) Marion, Ind., and Nan and Gary Lewis, of Corning.

Note: Nellie does not appear in the home of Warren and Harriet Lewis in 1880. Per Warren's obituary, he first married Harriet Riffle who died about 1895. Minerva "Minnie" Hitchcock was his third wife, whom he married on 9 Jun 1898.

Retired NYC Man Dies at Corning
Corning--Grant Lewis Sr., 79, a resident of Corning since 1901 and assistant yardmaster for the local New York Central Yards for many years until his retirement in October, 1935, died at his home, 255 Bridge St. early this morning.
He was born in Lawrenceville Twp. and married Miss Nellie Beeman (sic) in Lawrenceville in 1897. She died in May, 1933.
Since his retirement he has spent his summers here and for the past 10 winters lived in Tampa, Fla. He was a member of Lodge 117, F&AM and until his retirement was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
