60 Job Ailing, born in Hamden; married in Kent, Conn.; settled in Groton, N. Y.; removed to Auburn, 1831, and died there. In his later years he is said to have been an invalid, very lame and suffering much with rheumatism. He was a large man, fat and jolly, and notwithstanding his afflictions found "this life worth living," both for present enjoyment and for the assured hope of a brighter and better one to follow. He was a captain in the 1st Brigade, 1st Regiment, Conn. Militia, in 1798.
