BETROTHAL TOLD--Miss Anita Coolc, daughter of Mr. end Mrs. Lawson Cook, 2210 East 14th will be married Feb. 6 to Kenneth Joe New, the son of Mr. end Mrs. C. D. New, 2303 Milburn. Vows will be exchanged at 7 p. m. in Crescent Park Baptist Church. Dr. Homer P. Rainey of Boulder, Colo., uncle of the bride, will officiate. Miss Cook is a 1958 graduate of Odessa High School, and is employed with GMAC. Her fiance graduated from OHS in 1957 and served two years in the U. S. Navy. He is an employe of Continental EMSCO.

Anita Louise New
October 31, 1939 - July 26, 2022
Granbury, Texas - Anita Louise New passed on to her eternal home on Tuesday July 26, 2022 after a hard fought 6 year battle with Alzheimers disease.
Anita was born October 31, 1939 in Graham, Texas, the first child to Adele Rainey Cook and Lawson L. Cook. She went to school in Graham Texas until her Senior year when she moved to Odessa, Texas.
It was there that she met her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Joe New.
Anita and Ken spent 63 years together in Texas, Missouri, Georgia, Alabama and back to Granbury, Texas after retirement.
She was a very successful realtor in Guntersville, Alabama for many years, but her favorite past time, when she with her family, was being on the golf course as much as possible, she was proud to be a past Club Champion of both Pecan Plantation and Nut Cracker Golf Course in Granbury, Texas.
Anita is survived by her husband, Kenneth New; her son, Joe New and wife, Sharon; her daughter, Melissa Cone and husband, Steve; her sister, Kathy Cook and brothers, Buddy Cook and Ken Cook; she was a loving Nana to 9 grandchildren, Britton New, Jessica New, Brock New, Kimberly Clements, Matthew Clements, Darby Cone, Abbey Cone, Luke Cone, Arly Cone and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was dearly loved by them all and will be forever missed.
Service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2022 in Biggers Funeral Chapel.
