On Sept. 12, 1918, this brown-haired, blue-eyed man, of medium build and height, filled out a World War I draft card. He listed as his nearest relative his wife, Irma C Shamburg, and noted that he was a blacksmith and auto mechanic. By 1930, the Shamburgs were living in Tekamah, in Burt County, Nebraska. The US Census lists Jerome J Shamburg (56) head, paper hanger, odd jobs Irma C Shamburg (46) wife Walter (Waldo?)
