William M. Walsh
William M. Walsh, 63, of 1311 Towanda Ave., Bloomington, died at 5:19 a.m. yesterday (May 7, 1988) at St. Joseph's Hospital Medical Center, Bloomington.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Church, the Rev. Mark DeSutter officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.
He was born Nov. 27, 1924, in Bloomington, a son of Thomas M. and Hazel Sackett Walsh. He married Patricia E. Travers on Aug. 25, 1951, in Bloomington. She died Oct. 28, 1982.
Survivors include a brother, John E., Los Angeles, Calif.; and three sisters, Mary Walsh, 1311 Towanda Ave., Bloomington; Martha Gillis, Danvers; and Joan Dennis, Taylorville.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
He was a graduate of Holy Trinity grade and high schools, and received a master's degree in education from the University of Illinois in 1951.
He was an English teacher at Octavia High School and later taught English and Spanish at Normal Community High School.
Mr. Walsh was a Navy veteran of World War II. He also was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Bloomington Elks and Bloomington Moose lodges and the Retired Teachers Association.
Mr. Walsh was a third and fourth degree Knight of Columbus, Bloomington Council.

Patricia E. Walsh
Patricia E. Walsh, 57, of 1311 Towanda Ave., Bloomington, died at 4:55 a.m. yesterday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Walsh will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Main Memorial Home and at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bloomington.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 10, 1925, in Bloomington, a daughter of John C. and Myrtle McCarty Travers. She married William Walsh on Aug. 25, 1951, in Bloomington. He survives.
Mrs. Walsh is survived by five sisters, Agnes Larkin, Towanda; Helen Evans, 107 N. Orr Dr., Normal; Mary Doyle, 504 S. Allin St., Bloomington; Anne Flynn, 1511 Julie Dr., Bloomington; Bernadine Kibble, Valparaiso, Ind. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Mrs. Walsh had been a secretary employed by Church Mutual Insurance Co., Bloomington, for 14 years. Previously she was a secretary in Bernard Wall's law office, also in Bloomington. Prior to that she was a secretary to the recorder of the Illinois Supreme Court.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, the American Businesswomen's Association's Redbird chapter, and the Women of the Moose.
