The death of Benjamin F. (sic) Cook, 94 years old, a former Albion resident, occurred at his home in Detroit Tuesday morning according to word received by relatives here. Funeral services were held this afternoon in Detroit, by the G. A. R. of that city, and the remains were brought here this afternoon for burial in Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Cook, who was a veteran of the Civil war, lived in Albion for many years, and was well known in this city. He was a member of Hollingswortb Post of the G. A. R. having Joined the 7th Michigan regiment, and served under General Custer when the brigade went to Salt Lake City to force Brigham Young, Mormon leader, to pay government taxes. After the war he took up farming near Albion and resided in this locality for over 30 years. About 25 years ago he moved to Detroit where he stayed until the time of his death.
