      Obituary ? Mrs. Nancy Sackett, widow of the late James W. Sackett, died at her home in Grahamsville, Sullivan county, N.Y., Dec. 24th, 1890, of eryslpelas. Mrs. Sackett was born in Neversink Aug. 1st, 1815, and was married to James W. Sackett, July 31st, 1834. Mrs. Sackett was for forty years a faithful member of the M. E. Church, and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. In her death three sons and three daughters are left to mourn the loss of a dutiful and loving mother. They are: William W. of Wilkes-Barre, Pa; George O., of White Haven, Pa; James E. of Grahamsville; Mrs. George Stanton, of Mongaup Valley; Mrs. Revillo Dunham, of Monticello, and Mrs. David Frew, of Grahamsville. The funeral was held in the R. D. Church, Grahamsville; services conducted by the Rev. Mr. Miles, of the M. E. Church, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Koons, of the R. D. Church. Interment in the Grahamsville cemetery.

      Laura Jane Frew died at her home in the Town of Thompson on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 3rd. She was born June 3rd, 1835 and was the oldest of nine children of James W. and Nancy Sackett, of Lumberland, this county. On Dec 28th, 1854, she was married to Chandler D. Frew, who on April 30th, 1861, enlisted in Company G, 6th Regt., of Michigan Volunteer Infantry. He was discharged in 1863 and went from New Orleans to New York City (on his way home) where he died from injuries received in the service of his country. Although she had been sadly afflicted for the last fifty years of her life, yet she bore it all with christian fortitude, never complaining nor murmuring, but always singing or telling of the goodness of her master. Surviving her are three brothers, William W. Sackett, of Monticello; James Edgar Sackett, of Wilkes Barre, Pa., and George Oscar Sackett, of White Havel, Pa. Funeral services were held in Monticello, Thursday afternoon, and interment in the family plot in the Grahamsville Cemetery on Friday. Mitchell, undetaker.

      Lieutenant Wood G. Ogden, of Middletown, has just recovered for a helpless soldier's widow, named Laura J. Frew, living at Grahamsville, Sullivan County, a pension of $8 per month and back payments for two years. She lost eleven and a half years pension, or about $1,100, by not making her application within the prescribed five years after her husband's death, which was in the fall of 1864.
