(nee: Thompson) Akers, 91, of New Beginnings Group Home of Racine, passed away on Friday, December 27,1996. She was born in Astrup, Denmark on September 11, 1905. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Jean (John) Munch of Racine; three grandchildren, Shelley (Gary) Siegel of Sachse, Texas, Debra Munch, and Jeffrey (Denise) Munch, both of Racine; and one great-granddaughter, Holly Ann Munch. She is further survived by sisters and a brother in Denmark and a sister-in-law, Betty Akers of West Liberty, Iowa. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, J. Keith Akers in 1964.
