Pfc. Gene Paul Blake to be Buried July 11
Services for Pfc. Gene Paul Blake, 21, Boys Town graduate who drowned accidentally in Korea June 10 will be July 11 in Fredericksburg, Va.
He had been stationed in Korea since March, 1954. He was graduated from Boys Town in 1952.
Fredericksburg is the home of his mother. His widow, Mary, lives in Omaha.

Robert Blake, Realtor, politician dead at 68
BELVIDERE -- Robert George Blake, 68, Boone County Republican, active in city and Boone County politics many years, died Monday evening in his home, apparently of a heart attack.
Blake was chairman of the Boone County Republican Party many years and a Third Ward alderman in Belvidere during the tenure of Mayor Lester E. Cunningham.
Blake was an appraiser for the Veterans Administration. He formerly operated the Robert Blake Real Estate Agency in Belvidere several years.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, with burial in Belvidere Cemetery. A complete obituary appears on this page.

BLAKE -- Robert George Blake, 68, 422 Caswell St., Belvidere, died at 6 p.m. Monday, June 29, 1987, in his home, apparently of a heart attack. Born Nov. 3, 1918, in Belvidere, son of Ferd W. and Varena Graves Blake. Lived most of his life in Belvidere. Married the former Betty J. Marston in Rockford, March 20, 1943. Service station operator on Logan Avenue for Sinclair Oil Co. about 15 years; then real estate broker, operating Robert Blake Agency several years; most recently appraiser for Veterans Administration. Active politically. Boone County chairman, Republican Party many years; Republican precinct committeeman of Pct. 1, Ward 3; Belvidere alderman of Third Ward during tenure of Mayor Cunningham, Member First United Methodist Church of Belvidere, and Boone Post 77, American Legion. World War II veteran of Army Air Corps, serving in Pacific theater. Graduated from Rock Valley College and held senior standing at Illinois State University. Survivors include his wife, Betty; his mother, Mrs. Verena Blake, Fredericksburg, Va.; son and his wife, Robert M. and Janet Blake, Ridgefield, Conn.; four daughters, Mary Louise and her husband, the Rev. Mark Schleeter, Peoria, Barbara Sue and her husband, Tim Fitch, Belvidere, Nancy Ellen Blake, Mount Prospect, Elizabeth Ann and her husband, Cary Winn, Holland, Mich.; sister, Mrs. Artanese Page, Fayetteville, N.C.; two brothers, Franklin and James Blake,Punta Gorda, Fla.; and eight grandchildren. Predeceased by his father, a son, David Michael Blake, April 1967; and four brothers, Theodore, David, Gene Paul, and Junior.
Services at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 2, in BUCK-WHEELER-HYLAND FUNERAL HOME, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, with the Rev. Mary Jo McDougall, associate pastor, officiating. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to service Thursday. Memorial established in his name.
