Edward Woodling Dies
Edward Woodllng, formerly of this city, died at his home at Retsof, near Buffaio, early Tuesday morning. While a resident of this city Mr. Woodling followed the trade of barber and was well known and esteemed. He moved to York State about five years ago.
Surviving are his wife, formerly Miss Mae Martin of this city; his step-father, Charles P. Ketler of 1303 south Main street, and two sisters, Mrs. Violet Carr, of this city, and Mrs. Pearl Lawson, Newark.
The funeral will be held from the Ketler residence, 1203 South Main street, city, on Friday afternoon at 2. Interment will be In Maple Hill cemetery.

Florist for 40 Years Succumbs in Hospital
Charles Ketler, 81, of 1203 South Main Street, Lee Park, Hanover Township, a florist at that address for 40 years, died Saturday night in General Hospital, where he was admitted on April 26.
A resident of Wyoming Valley for 60 years, deceased was born at Brooklyn October 8, 1867, son of the late Philip and Ester Ketler. He was employed by Wilkes-Barre Transit Company for 18 years before going into the floral business.
He was a member of Dr. Kistler's Men's Bible Class.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Carr of Liberty, N. Y.; a daughter, Mrs. Stanley Vauken, Shlckshinny; three stepchildren, Mrs. Pearl Lawson, Kearny, N. J.; Mrs. Clarence Smith, Gloucester, N. J.; Mrs. Regina H. Evans, Wilkes-Barre; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the home Tuesday at 3, with Rev. Rudolph Libeck of Baptist Tabernacle officiating, assisted by Rev. George Snyder of Ashley Methodist Church.

Mrs. Violet Carr Van Auken, 84, of Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Fla., died Sunday morning at her home.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre and was a former resident of 19 Oxford St., Lee Park, Hanover Townshlp.
Surviving are her husband, S. J. Van Auken, West Palm Beach; sons, Millard Carr, Burgess, Va., Wesley Carr, Hanover Township; daughters Mrs. Audrey Dove, Plains Township; Mrs. Beverly I. Schrader, Wilkes-Barre; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
Funeral will be be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from M. S. Frederick and Sons Funeral Home, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Wednesday from noon until time of service.
