SACKETT-Kaye Collins Sackett, born in Texas, passed away at the age of 87 on December 8, 2010. Kaye had four brothers, Millard, Dillard, Ed and A.V. Kaye and her mother moved to California during World War II to be near her brothers. At Fort McArthur, Kaye met and married an army staff sergeant named Wilbur Sackett. Kaye and Bill Sackett were married for 64 years. They had three children: two sons, Bob and Rick, followed by a daughter, Pam. Kaye is survived also by two daughter-in-laws, Diane and Helen, five grandchildren; Charlyn, Chris, Robb, Katie and Melinda as well as four great-grandchildren: Riley, Hailey, Jeremy and Tyler. Kaye worked a variety of jobs, but spent 25 years as a teacher and administrator, mostly at Merryland Preschool in Pasadena. She also worked as a real estate agent and an assistant in San Marino until 2005. Her memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on January 28, 2011 at Holliston United Methodist Church in Pasadena. A reception will follow the service. The family asks that you send a donation to either the City of Hope at www.cityofhope.org or the Convalescent Aid Society at www.cas1.org.
