Notes: The will bears the names of two witnesses but is not signed by Copper Blakeslee. Names in the will are Mary Blakeslee (wife); daughters Theda Beackett, Almira Webster, Louisa Knapp, Lucretia Blakeslee, and Mary Stockwell; sons Horace Blakeslee, Orren Blakeslee, Jared Blakeslee, William Blakeslee, and Jason Blakeslee. The will specifies that Mary receives all household furnishings and the right to live in the house, as well as amounts of money that each child is to receive. In addition, the will specifies that William and Nason (or Mason) are to share equally in the remainder of the farm.
The will is dated 3 Jan 1840.
Probate papers, filed 27 Jun 1942 in Geuga County, indicate that Mary declined to be executrix, deferring instead to son William.
