Reuben G. James Passes Away in Salinas Hospital
Reuben G. James, 64, retired logger, passed away in a local hospital this morning. He had made his home with one of his sons, Jesse L. James, 745 Galindo avenue, for the last nine months.
Mr. James was a native of Wadena, Minn. Other survivors in addition to the local man were these sons: M. A. and Donald James, San Jose; Erwin James, The Dalles, Ore.; Roger James, Laguna Beach; Alvin James, Silver Bay, Minn.; Jack Q. James, Great Falls, Mont.; Ace James, Freeport, Iowa, and Patrick James, Portland, Ore.; four daughters, Mrs. Helen Hendrickson, Garden Grove; Mrs. Betty Baird, Woody Island, Wash.; Mrs. Merrijo Bataligia, Forest Grove, Ore.; and Mrs. Nancy Oullis, Grand Marias, Minn.; 42 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Brown, Hillsboro, Ore., and Mrs. Joyce Beechly, Portland.
He was a veteran of World War I and served with the United States Navy. Mr. James was a member of Quad Cities chapter No. 44, D.A.V.
Funeral services will be held in Muller's mortuary chapel Friday at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Golden Gate National cemetery at San Bruno at 12:45 p.m.
