The death of James Oscar Eddins, only son of Mr. and Mrs. T.T. Eddins, at Baugh's Infirmary in Decatur, was quite a shock to his many friends.

He died Friday morning at 2 o'clock after a serious operation. He had an operation last summer, but from which he had never fully recovered.

Funeral services were conducted at the home by Brother Hall, assisted by Brother Kirby, of Tanner, Sunday afternoon, May 24. A large crowd of friends and neighbors were present to show their love and respect for this fine couple, whom everyone who came in contact with them could never forget their friendly attitude.

Mr. Eddins had been in the mercantile business for some years at Tanner, where he proved to be a successful merchant and also a worthy citizen of this county.

The deceased is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Mable Miller, of Tanner, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.T. Eddins, of Hays Mill; two sisters, Mrs. Flonnie Hastings and Mrs. Rosie Holt.

The following relatives attended the funeral: W.R. and L.A. Eddins of Birmingham; Mrs. Alta Eddins of New Market; Mrs. Myrtle Phillips of Huntsville; Mrs. Pearl Wells of Athens; Mrs. Jody Griffis of Diana, Tenn.; Mrs. Hattie George of Pulaski, Tenn.; Mr. Robert Miller and family of Detroit, Michigan.
