      Carrington Stanford Rites Held in Wayne, Me.

      Wayne, Me. -- Memorial services for Carrington Mason Stanford, 58, yachtsman, insurance executive and Navy veteran, were held in Wayne Community Church, Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Wayne (sic), who died Sunday in Togus VA Hospital, will be buried in Arlington National cemetery.

      He was a native of Memphis, Tenn., the son of Rear Adm. Homer Reed Stanford, and Madie Mason Stanford. He was graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in mining engineering in 1922, and from Harvard Business School in 1927. For the past 16 years he has been in the poultry business here.

      Prior to that he was assistant manager for the Insurance Co. of North America in charge of its London office. He was a member of the Royal Ocean Racing Club of New England, Yachting Club of America, Winthrop Rotary Club and American Legion Post of Winthrop.

      He leaves his wife, the former Avis Lovejoy; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Holland of San Francisco; a son, Carrington M. Stanford, Jr., of Hartford; a stepson, Donald Gatti, with the armed forces in Germany; a sister, Mrs. Leroy Sackett of Coronado, Cal., and two grandchildren.
