Violet H. S. Bird
BRIGHAM CITY--Mes. Violet Higley Sackett Bird, 67, died at her residence Thursday at 10:45 p.m. after a short illness.
Born in Brigham City, Aug. 30, 1864, she was a daughter of Daniel Lee and Nancy Ann Turpin Higley. She was raised and educated in Brigham City.
She was married to John. L. Sackett Nov. 1, 1905. They lived in Brigham City for a time and later moved to Black Pine, Ida. Mr. Sackett died in 1946.
She was married to Henry E. Bird July 20, 1949, in the Logan Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mrs. Bird studied at the Palmer School of Chiropractic, Chicago, and practiced three years at Pana, Ill. She was an active L.D.S. Church member and served in the Primary Assn. and as a Relief Society block teacher.
Besides her husband, Brigham City, she is survived by a son and a daughter, Clifford W. Sackett and Mrs. Cecil (Ruth) Royster, both of Ogden; the following stepsons and stepdaughters: Mes. Lee Bailey, Pocatello; Mrs. Cassie Briggs, Aberdeen, Ida.; Russell D. Bird, U.S. Army; Cleo Bird, Brigham City, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Lorine Walters, Brigham City, Clifford Leo Higley, Salt Lake City, and Jesse W. Higley, Wells, Nev.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the Brigham Fourth L.D.S. Ward Chapel by George Nielsen, bishop. Friends may call . . . Burial will be in the Autorest Cemetery, Ogden. . . .

John LeRoy Sackett
John LeRoy Snckett, 84, of 857 Twenty-sixth street, church worker and contractor, died at a local hospital at one-thirty p. m. following a two-month illness.
Mr. Sackett was born in Brigham City, January 16, 1882. a son of Samuel Arthur and Mary Peterson Sackett. His early life was spent in Brigham City, He was married to Violet Higley November 1. 1905, in Brigham City. He moved to Curlew valley, Idaho, where ho engaged in farming. Later he went east and studied a course in chiropractics. practicing for a number of years in Illinois. He came to Ogden in 1925 where he became engaged in the contracting and building trade. He was an active L. D. S. church worker and served as presiding elder in Curlew valley and in Ogden. was a member the high priests' quorum of the L. D. S. Twenty-fourth ward. Mount Ogden stake. He also acted as chairman of the quorum.
Surviving are his widow of Ogden; one son, Clifford W. Sackett. Ogden: a daughter, Cecil Royster, Ogd3n; six grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Estress M. Sackett, Orval Sackett, William Sackett, Mrs. Laura Gilbert, Mrs. Ella Johnson, of Brigham City; Ephraim Snckett, and Mrs. Maud Lehnherr, Salt Lake City; John Sackett, Orem; Irvin Sackett, Boulder, Colo.; Golden Sackett, Santa Paula, Calif.; Harry Sackett, California; Mrs. Annetta Hudson, Los Angeles, Calif.: Mrs. Julia Jones, Provo: Mrs. Mary E. Gilbert, Ogden, and Mrs. Ruby Ockey, Rock Springs. Wyo.

Effie McKay Sackett
Effie McKay Sackett, Mother, Grandma, "Grandma Great" and friend passed away and declared her independence on July 4th, 2007. She was 94 years of age.
Mom was born in Willard Utah June 17th, 1913 to Angus William McKay and Christina Wangsgard. She grew up in Willard and later moved to Ogden and attended Central Jr. High School.
Mom married (Dad) Clifford Woodroff Sackett on Dec 24th, 1929 in Ogden Utah and 10 years later they were sealed for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Their marriage brought 8 children into the world. Dad passed away March 21, 1970.
Mom worked for Topper Bakery and the Utah State Tax Commission for many years. She could be seen almost daily in her little red Chev pickup truck going in all directions. She was known to many as Grandma, even if you were of no relation. She loved camping with her family and fishing with her friends. She especially enjoyed going out to lunch with her friends and family. Mom enjoyed crocheting & ceramics. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Mom was preceded in death by her Grand Parents, Father, Mother, Husband, three children, three brothers, two sisters, one son-in-law and one Grandson.
Surviving are her children 3 Son, 2 Daugher, 3 Daughter-In-Law, also survived by 13 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, and 11 Great-Great Grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Vista Hospice and a special thanks to Leslie for her support during this difficult time.
