DR. ALPHA FRITZ HAWK, retired medical examiner for the Veterans Administration, died at his home in Micco Tuesday at the age of 62.
Dr. hawk lived in the Meibourne area from 1897 to 1908 while his father was pastor of the Methodist Church in Melbourne. His father also served other Methodist churches in the area including St. Paul's Methodist Church, Eau Gallie; Georgiana Methodist Church and the Methodist Church in City Point.
Dr. Hawk returned to Melbourne in 1945 and has made his home in Melbourne Beach and Micco since that time.
He served in both world wars and was a member of the Roseland Methodist Church, University Lodge 631. F&AM, Columbus, Ohio, and a former member of Melbourne Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth M. Hawk; three daughters, Mrs. Verba Bagley and Mrs. Charlotte Ritz, both of Canton, Ohio, and Mrs. Anne Marie Young, Aliquippa, Pa., and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Brownlie Funeral Home, the Rev. J. O. Jameson officiating, with Masonic services furnished by Melbourne Lodge 143, F&AM. Burial will be at Mutual, Ohio.
