Clarence Walter Chase, 78, Fosston, died Friday, April 20, 1990, in Virginia (Minn.) Convalescent and Care Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Calvary Free Lutheran Church, Fosston. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Carlien-Hoialmen Funeral Home, Fosston.
Clarence Chase was born Feb. 9, 1912, in Minneapolis, the son of Frank and Tillie Chase. He moved with his family to Fertile, Minn., where he grew up and attended school. On July 9, 1934, he married Harriet Mae Benbo in Fertile, where they lived until moving to Grand Forks and later Fosston. He worked for Land-O-Lakes Inc., until retiring in 1977. Harriet Mae Chase died Feb. 3, 1989.
Survivors are his sons, Francis, Madison, Wis., and Alonzo, Libertyville, III,; daughters, Lynn (Mrs. Morris) Grove, Burlington, Vt., Kay (Mrs. Robert) Cohn, Virginia, and Ava (Mrs. Joe) Williams, Aurora, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Harriet Mae (Mrs. Clarence) Chase, 78, Fosston, died Friday, Feb. 3, 1989, in Dakota Hospital, Fargo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Calvary Free Lutheran Church, Fosston. Arrangements are with Carlin Funeral Home, Fosston.
Harriet Mae Benbo was born May 1, 1916, in Fertile, Minn., the daughter of Norman and Mary Benbo. She graduated from Fertile High School in 1934 and married Clarence Chase July 9, 1934. They lived in Fertile and Grand Forks before moving to Fosston in 1945.
Survivors are her husband; sons, Francis, Madison, Wis., Alonzo, Libertyville Ill.; daughters, Lynn (Mrs. Morris) Grove, Burlington. Vt., Kay (Mrs. Robert) Cohn, Virginia, Minn., Ava (Mrs. Joseph) Williams, Aurora, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Charles, Winger, Minn., Alonzo, Mentor, Minn.; and sister, June (Mrs. James) Revi, Hemet, Calif.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin.
