Harold A. See, 48, of 513 Bowery street, took his own life Tuesday in a wooded ravine near the Coralville dam, according to Dr. George D. Callahan, Johnson county coroner, who said Mr. See apparently died instantly from a shotgun blast to the chest.

Officials said Mr. See had been despondent recently over a morals charge filed against him tn police court.

Mr. See had, been the object of a search to the Iowa City area when his wife arrived at home from work Tuesday afternoon and found him and a shotgun missing. The search was centered in the dam area after his car was located on a dirt road just west of the big dam Tuesday night. His body was found about 100 yards from the car by Mrs. See at 6:50 a.m.

Mr. See was born March 10, 1910, at Menlo, Kan., son of Mr. and Mrs. Eber N. See. He had lived in Iowa City since his discharge from armed forces service during World War II, coming here from Greeley, Col.

For the past eight years, he had been employed by the University of Iowa maintenance department.

Survivors include his widow, Grace; a son, Warren, of Jem, Kansas; his parents, of Oakley, Kansas; four sisters, Mrs. Forrelous Cash, of California, Mrs. Hester Davis, of Slloam Springs, Ark., Mrs. Wilma Duden, of Llmon, Colo., and Mrs. Violet Aire, of Oakley, and a brother, Norman, of Pensacola, Fla.
