He died aged 81 in Canterbury, Kent, in November 1993. He married first in Bridge, Kent, in 1938, Mary A Harrison. He married second in Canterbury in 1950, Barbara Marjorie Andrews. Barbara died in Kent on 20 September 2012. At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Thomas was living at 12 Tanford Lane, Bridge and Blean Rural District, Kent, and was a chauffeur.
