AN OLD RESIDENT.
H. C. Sackett No More--End of a Useful Career--The Funeral
H. C. Sackett, one of the old settlers of the county, died at the age of 71 years at his home in the First ward Thursday night, from cancer of the stomach. Though in poor health for some time past he was not confined to the house until about two weeks ago when he commenced to fail rapidly and took to his bed. Deceased was born in the state of New York where he lived until he was 36 years of age. In 1857 he removed to Appleton where he has since resided. His wife, six sons land three daughters survive him, Charles and Clarence, of New London; Emory, of Leopolis, Wis.; Frank, of Marinette; Fred, of Stevens Point; Mrs. T. W. Urie, of Hillside, Ill.; and Leslie Mary and Ida, of this city. The funeral took place from the family's residence Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. R. H. Pooley. Deceased had many friends throughout the state to whom the news comes with much saddness (sic) of his death. His entire family will be in attendance at the funeral.
