Raymond L. Highhouse, 91, was born in Billings in 1918 to Olive and L.V. Highhouse. He attended Billings' schools and, in 1937, left for California. He returned in 1938 and went to work for his father at Ideal Grocery. On Dec. 24, 1938, he married Gladys Tanner. During World War II, Raymond was assigned to San Francisco with the U.S. Navy. They returned to Billings in 1945, where he continued employment in the grocery industry, as well as other endeavors. During these years, Ray and Gladys were blessed with the birth of their daughters, Joanne (Zanetell) and Nancy (Parker). They purchased the Triangle Grocery Store in Lockwood in 1953 and later the Western Bar in 1965. After selling the bar, he retired to Red Lodge in 1974 and worked independently selling advertising. They returned to Billings where Raymond enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great -grandchildren.
