- Florence Pearl Shrimplin is the daughter of Sanford and Sarah Denny Shrimplin. Various records giver her birth date as 11 Feb, 13 Feb, and 15 Feb in 1911. She was born in Illinois, first appearing in Concord Township, Iroquois County, Illinois in the 1920 census. Her parents appear in the same place in the 1910 census, suggesting that Florence probably was born there or nearby.
Florence was the third wife of Albert Franklin Foust (1894-1936) on 20 Jul 1929 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. He died in a traffic accident. His obituary indicates that he was survived by Florence and four children: June, Alva, Louis Sanford and Richard Dean. (The obituary does not mention three children from his second marriage.)
Florence next married David Edward Karlstrand (1893-1946), who appears to have had at least two prior marriages. Although Florence's death certificate identifies her as Florence P. Karlstrand, the Journal and Courier (Lafayette, Indiana), dated 25 Jul 1954 indicates that on 3 Jul 1954 in Williamsport, Mrs. Florence Karlstrand of Pine Village married Alfred Arndt of Lafayette, noting that they would reside in Pine Village. It appears that the marriage did not last very long, because in 1958 Alfred married Mary E. Bannon.
At the time of her death, Florence was living in Pine Village, Warren County, Indiana. Her death certificate indicates that she died of heart failure due to lung cancer in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana on 10 Aug 1965.
