Jeanne A Sackett, 67, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2016. Born in Hudson to Robert E. Sackett and Henrietta Mary Sobocinski, of Poland, Jeanne was the youngest of five children.

She is survived by her three children Gina Kubow(Christopher) of Glenville, Jeffrey Van Deusen of Hudson, and Richard Van Deusen Jr. of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and her sister Mary Meacher of Germantown. She is also survived by her grandchildren Darin Van Deusen, Justin Kubow, Christopher Kubow, Chelsea Van Deusen, and Jeffrey Waterhouse Jr(Gabrielle), all of whom gave her immense joy. She is predeceased by her parents, son David, brother Robert, and sisters Roberta and Janice.

Jeanne spent her life in service to others. With a certificate in nursing from Saint Peter's Hospital, she worked at hospitals and retirement homes in the region, devoted to helping and healing. She passed her time with crafts and knitting, always donating to local charities, eager to help wherever it was needed. Jeanne shone with the light of a woman of great faith, touching and inspiring everyone she met. Her absence will be painfully felt by her family and friends, but her unforgettable smile, kindness, and generosity, will be missed by every person who met her.

Calling hours will be held at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, on Friday from 6 to 8PM. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday at Victory Baptist Church, located on Swaggertown Road in Schenectady. Internment will follow at St. Anthony?s Cemetery in Glenville, NY. In lieu of flowers the Jeanne Sackett Outreach Fund has been established in her honor.
