      ODESSA Don Ignacio Gunn, 46, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on March 11, 2021 at his home holding hands with the love of his life.

      Visitation will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at New Dawn Fellowship, 2110 10th Street, Odessa, Texas with Pastor Wally Schiwart officiating. Arrangements are by and burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

      Don was born in Odessa, Texas to Hebert Don and Linda Ann Gunn on May 7, 1974. He went to school in Odessa, Texas through his Senior year at Odessa High School. After High School, Don went to Universal Technical Institute for Mechanics in Phoenix, AZ where he earned Associates Degrees. He married Bobbie Josette on August 9, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. He worked as a Diesel Field Mechanic throughout his life. At the time of his passing, he was an Operations Surface Team Lead at Midland Farms for Occidental Petroleum, a position of which he was very proud to hold and a company he loved working for.

      Don was an avid drag car racer from a very early age and there many cars throughout West Texas and Eastern New Mexico that Don has not had his hands on or head under the hood of. Don was a huge supporter of service men and women of any military branch as well as law enforcement. If he saw someone is uniform, he would Thank them for their service and pay for their meals.

      Don is preceded in death by his Father Hebert Don Gunn, Uncle Raymond Gonzales, Uncle Robert Gunn, Uncle Julius Lee Gunn, Nephew Jake Frady, Paternal Grandparents Julius Venson and Bernilla Faye (New) Gunn and Maternal Grandparents Antonio Minjara and Maria Delia (Hernandez) Gonzales.

      Don is survived by his wife Josie Gunn, Son Donald (Sabrina) Gunn, Former spouse Patricia Rodriguez, Daughter Tabitha Rodriguez, Sister Anthonette (Ron) Nall, Mother Linda Gunn, Grandchildren Lila, Daniel, Donald Jr, and baby Claire due in June. As well as numerous non related brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and grand babies. When Don met you, you weren't friends you became family.

      Pallbearers will be Trevor White, Larry Mullen, Stacy Bailey, Gary Keese, Joe Skelton, Michael Mendoza, Chris Knabe and Xavier Ojeda.

      Memorials may be given to Home Hospice Odessa/Midland LLC.

      The family of Don Gunn wishes to extend our sincere thanks to MD Anderson Cancer Center doctors and staff in Houston, Texas, Home Hospice WTX nurses and aids in Odessa, Texas, Occidental Petroleum Co-workers, Diamond Fleet Parts owner, and employees as well as the abundance of friends that have brought food, fellowship, and comfort over the weeks.
