T. Denver Fimreite
T. Denver Fimreite, 67, died Saturday at Queen of the Valley Hospital following a serious illness.
He was born April 16, 1918, in Makoti, N.D. and moved to St Helena in 1942. He served on a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier in the Pacific from 1944 to 1946 and moved to Napa in 1949. He was employed at Mare Island prior to World War II and later returned to Mare Island as an administrator and production officer for electronics in the electric and ordnance shops for 30 years.
He was past president of the 20-30 Club in St. Helena, a member of Napa Valley Country Club and served on the board of directors, a member of Barbershoppers in Napa, N.A.R.F., SIRS Chapter 20 and First Christian Church.
Mr. Fimreite is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Napa, two daughters, Pat Blakefield and Kathi Souza, both of Napa, one brother, Lester of Shingle Springs, three sisters, Ardith Gad of Jamestown, N.D., Fern Steele of Napa and Donna Fors of Sacramento, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Claffey and Rota Funeral Home, 1975 Main St. Pastor Wavne Rickerson of First Christian Church will officiate.

Mrs. Marjorie Fimreite of Napa and her mother, Mrs. Ruth Thomas of Palm Springs, were honored with a bon voyage party in their stateroom aboard the SS Lurline prior to their departure for a two-week tour of the Hawaiian Islands. Wellwish-ers toasting the travelers at the party included Denver Fimreite, Jess Hasty, Dan and Fern Steele, Bob and Alice Stearns, Betty Stark and Dree Dillberg of Napa; James and Dortha Walker of Fairfield and Paul and Verlee Hubbs and children of Los Altos.
