Jeanne A Sackett, 67, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2016. Born in Hudson to Robert E. Sackett and Henrietta Mary Sobocinski, of Poland, Jeanne was the youngest of five children.
She is survived by her three children Gina Kubow(Christopher) of Glenville, Jeffrey Van Deusen of Hudson, and Richard Van Deusen Jr. of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and her sister Mary Meacher of Germantown. She is also survived by her grandchildren Darin Van Deusen, Justin Kubow, Christopher Kubow, Chelsea Van Deusen, and Jeffrey Waterhouse Jr(Gabrielle), all of whom gave her immense joy. She is predeceased by her parents, son David, brother Robert, and sisters Roberta and Janice.
Jeanne spent her life in service to others. With a certificate in nursing from Saint Peter's Hospital, she worked at hospitals and retirement homes in the region, devoted to helping and healing.She passed her time with crafts and knitting, always donating to local charities, eager to help wherever it was needed. Jeanne shone with the light of a woman of great faith, touching and inspiring everyone she met. Her absence will be painfully felt by her family and friends, but her unforgettable smile, kindness, and generosity, will be missed by every person who met her.
Calling hours will be held at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, on Friday from 6 to 8PM. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday at Victory Baptist Church, located on Swaggertown Road in Schenectady. Internment will follow at St. Anthony?s Cemetery in Glenville, NY. In lieu of flowers the Jeanne Sackett Outreach Fund has been established in her honor. This fund will be used in memory of Miss Jeanne's overwhelming passion to reach this community and in her words, "tell people about Jesus." GUILDERLAND Roberta Anna Sackett, 73, of Guilderland, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2008 at St.
Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Roberta was born in Hudson, N.Y. to the late Robert Emmett Sackett and Henrietta Mary Sackett. She was one of five siblings and is survived by her sisters, Mary Meacher of Germantown, Janice Winig of Ghent, and Jeanne Sackett of Schenectady. Her brother, Robert Sackett of Tenn., predeceased her. Roberta is survived by her three children, Terry Austin of Sleepy Hollow, N.Y., Karen Austin-Spinelli of Guilderland, N.Y. and David Austin of Delmar, N.Y. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, David J. Austin, Calyn Austin, Brett Spinelli, Sarah Spinelli, Brea Spinelli, Roberta Shortell and Jack Shortell. She is also survived by her special friends, Maureen, Jeanne, Esther, Rita and Vera. She was loved and admired for many things but obvious to most was her generous volunteer work with the impoverished, unmatched kindness, generosity, outspoken politics, gourmet cooking and love of earlier times. Roberta was an avid gardener, bird watcher and self-taught nutritionist. She was a licensed child care technician, followed by her role as a physical therapy assistant at the Teresian House, and a nurse's assistant at the Albany County Nursing Home. The family would like to thank the medical staff of St. Peter's I.C.U., 4 Gabrilelove Pulmonary Unit, and 6th Nolan Riddle for their gentle care, encouragement, and healing presence. Special thanks to Wendy, Jim and Dorothy from the I.C.U., and Alice, Arabella, Lorraine, and Amy from 4 Gabrilelove Pulmonary Unit. Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 29 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Matthews Church, 32 Mountainview Street, Voorheesville, NY 12186. Janice C. Winig, 76, of Ghent, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at Whittier Place Adult Home.
Born Oct. 6, 1936 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Sackett.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Janice is survived by four children, Susan Gilliam of Indiana, Pamela Avery of Hudson, Anthony Winig, III of Hudson, and Mary Elizabeth Blake of Ravena; eight grandchildren, Jay Williams, Sarah and Elijah Wilson, Amie Winig, Anthony Winig, IV, Bryan Winig, and Kennedy and Kashia Tranchita, two sisters, Mary Meacher of Germantown and Jeanne Sackett of Saratoga, and several great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Winig, a sister, Roberta Sackett, and a brother, Robert Sackett.
Calling hours are 3-5 pm Friday at the Bates & Anderson - Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 5 pm at the funeral home.
