Funeral Services for Mrs. Busck Today
Private funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Scott Smith Busck, wife of Capt. Vilhlem K. Busck, USN, will take place today at the Naval Base chapel with Chaplain G. C. Bingaman officiating.
Pallbearers will be Capt. John E. Florance, Capt. E. E. Garcia, Lt. Comdr. H. R. Glidden, Lt. Comdr. W. W. Yongue, Chief Electrician William I. Marshall, and Chief Machinist C.K. Sparrow.
Mr. Busck died early yesterday at the Charleston Naval Hospital after a long illness.
She was a daughter of J. J. Pringle Smith of 21 East Battery and Middleton Place Gardens, and a granddaughter of the late Henry A. Middleton Smith and his wife, Mrs. Emma Smith.
Mrs. Busck was born Dec. 24, 1913 in Charleston. She attended Ashley Hall, St. Timothy's school at Catonville, Md., and Lothorp School of Landscape Architecture at Groton, Mass. She took and active interest in management of Middleton Place Gardens and its nursery.
Prior to her illness, Mrs. Busch and Captain Busck lived with her parents.
Surviving besides her husband and her parents are three children by a former marriage, Misses Heningham Anne and Josephine Scott Duell and Charles Halliwell-Pringle Duell, and a stepson, Lt. Albert A. Busck, U.S. Army.

Of interest to society here is the marriage of Miss Josephine Scott Smith, daugher of Mr. & Mrs. J.J. Pringle Smith oc Chraleston, S.c., and a granddaughter of the late Mr. Tazewell Elliett of this city, to Mr. Charles Halliwell Duell, son of Mr. & Mrs. John Stilwell of 167 East Sixty-fourth Street, New York City, and Ardenwold Yonkers-on-the-Hudson, N.Y., which will take place this evening. The ceremony will be performed by the Rev. S. Cary Beckwith at 8:30 o'clock in St. Phillips Church, Charleston. White chrysanthemums, roses, and smilax will be used to decorate the church.

Miss Mildred Kimball of Chattanooga, Tenn., will be the bride's maid of honor and the bridesmaids will include Misses Elizabeth Atkinson Burke of Washington, Virginia Chisolm, Nancy Kinlock and Margaret Watkins of Charleston, Lydia Van Wyok Hoke of Atlanta, and Elizabeth Gibbes of Wheeling, W. Va. Miss Gibbs was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ross A. Cauthorne this week.
Mr. Duell will have as his best mand Mr. Holland Duell and groomsmen will include Messers. Halliwell Ledyard Duell, Ogden Nash, Roy Larson, L. Winston Childs Jr., George Trowbridge Elliman, Charles Henry Woodward, Frank Ellinwood Calhoun, and H. Gordon Sweet of New York, Messers. George Lamb Burst, Henry Gourdin Young, John Anderson and James M. Wilson will act as ushers.
The ceremony will be followed by a reception in the home of the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Henry A. Middleton Smith of 21 East Battery, Charleston.
